When my OCD, anxiety, and depression had me pinned down, leaving my home was a huge struggle. Going outside felt like trying to walk through thick mud, with my mind full of worries and habits. Each day was a fight against the invisible chains holding me back.
Surprisingly, pageantry became a ray of hope during this dark time. The stage beckoned, giving me a chance to face my fears directly. Through the world of pageantry, I learned to handle the unending anxiety that had held me captive. Little by little, I conquered my fear of what others might think, the pressure to be perfect, and the tight grip of my OCD.
My time on stage lit a fire in me to share my journey, turning my pain into a purpose. Using this newfound strength and determination, I began creating a special mental health journal. This project was a labor of love, showcasing my resilience and offering comfort to others dealing with their mental health struggles.
This October, my first book—this interactive mental health journal—will hit Barnes & Noble. Its pages don't just hold my hard times but also my victories, each one a reminder of how strong we can be. I hope this journal becomes a guiding hand for those wrestling with mental health issues, a friend in the dark, and proof that things can get better.
My story shows that even in the darkest times, you can rise up. You not only survive but find a purpose and healing through unexpected paths.
